Founder Karl Wenn has always been a little obsessive about hot sauce.
A lifelong lover of bold, spicy food, Karl is the kind of person who puts hot sauce on nearly everything—and has equally strong opinions about what makes a great one. The heat should be there, but it shouldn't overpower the food. A great sauce should bring flavor, balance, and enough fire to keep you coming back for another bite.
The idea for Vulcan began more than a decade ago. While watching an episode of Shark Tank, Karl found himself wondering: If I were going to create one product I cared enough about to put on a grocery store shelf, what would it be?
The answer was immediate: sauce.
Hot sauce first, but the vision was bigger from the beginning—barbecue sauces, marinades, and other bold, flavor-driven sauces people would actually want to keep within arm's reach.
The name came just as naturally. Vulcan, the Roman god of fire, was a perfect fit for a brand built around heat. Karl secured the brand and spent years developing the idea, studying the market, refining the concept, and waiting for the right time to bring it to life.
That time is now.
Vulcan Sauces was created to make flavorful, versatile sauces with serious character. The goal isn't heat for heat's sake. It's to make sauces that enhance the food they're put on—bold enough for people who love spice, balanced enough to become an everyday staple.
Vulcan's first release, Fermented Habanero, is the beginning of that vision.
And we're just getting warmed up.
Vulcan Sauces. It's Gonna Be Fire.
